Former Guantanamo Bay prisoner, Omar Deghayes talks about the letters he received while being held there.
Omar was only given his mail at the whim of the U.S. military personnel holding him, going for months at a time with no contact with the outside world. Even when it was delivered, he was only allowed to see photocopies of the letters and cards that had been addressed to him.
He says that the post sent to him by well wishers and organised by NGOs supporting the detainees was a lifeline to him during his imprisonment in Guantanamo.
